According to sources Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Jalen Ramsey is being traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Miami Dolphins. In exchange, the Rams will receive a third-round pick in the 2023 draft and tight end Hunter Long. Ramsey will receive an adjusted contract that includes two fully guaranteed years and an average of $20 million per season, as well as an additional $25 million guaranteed.

Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro, spent three seasons with the Rams and is coming off his sixth Pro Bowl season. The Rams, who have already released Bobby Wagner and Leonard Floyd and are over the salary cap by $9 million, have been discussing trade options since February. Ramsey had reportedly preferred Miami as his destination, and his addition to the Dolphins' roster is expected to bolster their pass coverage and run defense.

Ramsey's physical presence and versatility, along with his ability to play outside corner, in the slot, or at safety, will be an asset for Miami's defense. The Rams, meanwhile, will benefit from the financial relief and draft capital gained through this trade.
