Kings Extend Winning Streak with Dominant 4-1 Victory over Blue Jackets

Led by Carl Grundstrom's goal and assist in a four-goal second period, the Kings dominated the game and improved to 7-0-1 in their past eight games.

The Los Angeles Kings continued their hot streak with a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night. Led by Carl Grundstrom's goal and assist in a four-goal second period, the Kings dominated the game and improved to 7-0-1 in their past eight games.

The Blue Jackets had a strong start to the game, but failed to convert their chances into goals. In contrast, the Kings capitalized on their opportunities in the second period and took control of the game.

Drew Doughty opened the scoring for the Kings with a beautiful solo effort, tapping in his own rebound after some nifty stick-handling in the slot. Anze Kopitar doubled the lead less than three minutes later, and Viktor Arvidsson and Grundstrom added to the scoreline to complete the Kings' four-goal second period.

The Blue Jackets managed to get on the scoreboard with a goal from Kirill Marchenko, but it was too little, too late for the struggling team. Goalie Daniil Tarasov was pulled in the second period after allowing four goals on 27 shots, and Michael Hutchinson made nine saves in relief.

For the Kings, Pheonix Copley made 30 saves to earn his second win of the season. The team's strong defensive play has been a key factor in their recent success, as they have allowed just eight goals in their past eight games.

After the game, Doughty emphasized the importance of sticking to the game plan and playing a good two-way game. He also admitted that he should tap into his offensive skills more often, but is willing to suppress them for the team's success.

The Blue Jackets, on the other hand, have lost five of their past six games and are struggling to find their form.
